Terms of use

Public beta legal notice. Effective July 3, 2026.

CabinKept is a shared-property organizing tool from Apps 4 That LLC. By using it you agree to the terms below.

1. What CabinKept is — and is not

CabinKept is a tracker and organizer. The ledger records expenses, computes splits, and suggests settle-up transfers — it never holds, collects, custodies, transfers, or pays out money, and it is not a payment service, escrow, wallet, or money transmitter. All actual movement of family money happens outside the app, between the members of your family, and is your family's own responsibility.

2. Not legal, tax, or insurance advice

Nothing in CabinKept — including the checklists, the knowledge base, and the Cabin Counselor (on-device and AI) — is legal, tax, insurance, or property advice. How your family should hold the property (LLC, trust, deed language, buyouts, estate questions) is work for a licensed attorney in your state; tax questions belong to a CPA; what your policy covers is a question for your insurer. The app is designed to tell you the same thing when asked.

3. The fairness view informs; the family decides

The fair-turns view shows nights as recorded on your device, in neutral presentation, with no rankings. It is information for your family's own conversation — it does not create, imply, or enforce any entitlement to use of the property.

4. Checklists are starting points, not safety guarantees

The seasonal open/close templates summarize published guidance (insurance-industry, agency, and extension-service sources, cited in the knowledge base) and are fully editable by you. They are general starting points, not professional advice about your specific building or systems. Work involving water, gas, electricity, heights, heavy lifts (docks), or combustion appliances carries real risk — hire qualified professionals where appropriate, and follow your equipment manufacturers' instructions over anything in the app.

5. Your data, your device

Cabin data lives in your browser's storage. You're responsible for the device it lives on and for anything you show your family. Clearing browser data deletes the cabin permanently.

6. Purchases

The Cabin Pass is a yearly subscription per property and is processed by Stripe. The AI Cabin Counselor is planned as a monthly subscription, but it is not on sale yet while live AI entitlement is finished. Pricing is shown before you buy. The public beta may also include labeled full access for evaluation.

7. Fair use

Don't abuse the endpoints, attempt to break the guards, or use the app for anything unlawful. We may throttle or block abusive traffic.

8. No warranty; limitation of liability

CabinKept is provided as-is, without warranties. To the extent the law allows, Apps 4 That LLC is not liable for indirect or consequential damages, for property damage or loss connected to checklist use (see Section 4), or for disputes inside your family (including money and usage disputes — see Sections 1 and 3). Our total liability is capped at what you paid for the app in the prior 12 months.

9. Changes

These draft terms will be finalized (and this banner removed) only after attorney review, before public launch. Material changes will be posted here.
